Equine Sports Massage is commonly used to enhance performance
levels and endurance, to prevent injury and to aid the rate of recovery
when injury has occurred.
Benefits
- Enhanced muscle tone and range of motion.
- Removal of tension therefore reducing risk of injury.
- Faster healing through increased blood flow to muscles.
- Improved dispersal of toxins.
- Stimulate circulation and release of endorphins, the body's natural
pain killers.

Types of Massage
- Pre-Event: Massage prior to competition enables greater movement
and reduces warm-up time therefore saving valuable energy.
- Post Event: Aids the recovery process by eliminating lactic acid
build-up therefore reducing soreness and stiffness in the muscles.
- Maintenance: Used regularly, can keep the muscles in tune and aids
in the prevention of injury.
- Rehabilitation: Increased blood flow facilitates faster healing
and helps to prevent compensatory lameness.
Although massage is an effective form of therapy
it remains a complementary therapy and is not a substitute for
veterinary care.
Please consult your vet for advice.
